Who It Is For

Who Needs the Texas DWI Intervention Program?

Individuals who need the 12-hour first-offender education program should review our online DWIE class instead.

The Texas DWI Intervention Program, commonly called DWII or DWI-I, is generally designed for individuals with multiple DWI offenses and certain other participants who have been directed to complete an intervention-focused program.

A court, probation department, attorney, licensing agency or other referring authority may require the program. Participants must review their referral paperwork and confirm that DWI Intervention—rather than the shorter DWI Education Program—is required before registering. Individuals who need the 12-hour first-offender education program should review our online DWIE class instead.

Program Focus

Course content emphasizes accountability, risk awareness, decision-making, and the impact of impaired driving, while supporting participants in meeting mandated education requirements.
